For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - A careers assembly lasting around 20-25 minutes (including short clip) with a focus on why Careers Education is so important and how students can make the most of all the opportunities presented to them whilst in school. The assembly examines the cases of two fictional ex-students, Alisha and Jack, who didn’t take Careers Education seriously and ended up paying the price for it by adding years on to their lives in the time it took them to eventually find their ideal jobs. The slides in the previews are just a sample and not the whole assembly.
The assembly includes optional interactive elements, a 4 minute clip, a lot of motivational information, questions for students to answer and a little humour.

2 HOUR PSHE focus on our British identities and diversity, fully resourced lesson (PowerPoint, worksheets, clip tasks, activities, all differentiated three ways) which introduces the concept of identity and allows students to explore and celebrate their own. It focuses on the idea that diversity is something which should be celebrated and spoken about with pride. Part of the lesson sees the students creating their own ‘Identity Cubes’ which can be used as a display piece. Perfect for actively demonstrating SMSC.
The lesson is adaptable, easy to follow and fully differentiated. It could be used by a KS3 or KS4 Citizenship, PSHE or Tutor group.

A new lesson focusing on personal hygiene, oral health and the prevention of infections (covering all three topics as stipulated by DfE / PSHE Association Guidelines). Students will explore how they can maintain excellent personal and oral hygiene, why this is important and the consequences of if they don’t. They will then investigate what infections are, how we can prevent them from happening and how we can prevent them from spreading. Contains clip tasks, match-up tasks, analysis and case study tasks and literacy-based activities. All editable and very easy to pick up and use. Best suited to KS3.

2024 UPDATE! An anti-bullying lesson focused around the theme of respecting each other and the power of respect.
Includes editable PowerPoint, worksheets, clip tasks, activities, (all differentiated three ways). The lesson focuses on the importance of respect in relation to both bullying and successful interpersonal relationships. This could be used over a week of Tutor Time, or as a one-off, one-hour lesson.
Students will be introduced to different ways of easily showing respect in a variety of relationships and settings, complete a variety of tasks and watch official anti-bullying week 2024 clips with questions and answers included. An assembly all about turning over a new leaf and being ambitious and changing your attitude. There is a big focus on working hard and how you can change your mindset to be more positive at any time. It lasts about 15 -20 minutes if clips are watched and questions asked too. The assembly uses the story of how Jay-Z escaped a tough childhood and gangs by working incredibly hard and throwing himself into writing and music.
It follows Shawn (the young Jay-Z - hopefully students won’t recognise who the assembly is about until the end) as he grows up as a troubled boy in Brooklyn, through the departure of his father, his grades slipping at school and how he eventually reached a crossroads. With encouragement from his mother, young Shawn decided to change his attitude and make a fresh start. The assembly emphasises the importance of hard work, staying positive and taking the opportunity presented by making a fresh start in life - which can be especially related to at the beginning of a school term.
There are optional clips to watch throughout and teacher notes (in the slide notes of the PowerPoint) with suggested questions that can be posed at each point and ideas to reflect on.
It has a couple of jokes thrown in too. More slides in the actual assembly - this is just a small selection for the preview.

The lesson focuses on dangerous or risky situations teens may encounter when out and about as well as when they start living independently in the wider world.
